How to kill bed bugs?

Getting rid of bed bugs at your home or business can be a very persistent and challenging process, even for pest control professionals. This is mostly due to their ability to hide in cracks and crevices combined with their nocturnal nature.  

Before you being the process of exterminating the bed bugs, you need to ensure that you actually have a bed bug infestation. Common signs include bites in clusters on your skin, tiny white eggs and blood spots or dark fecal spots on your mattress and bedding. You may even find them hiding in in the seams of your mattress or furniture cracks.

How to kill bed bugs? Whilst there are many ways to kill bed bugs, there are little treatment options that will actually gain control. In all cases we recommend a bed bug heat treatment. However, there are some things that you can do yourself to help eliminate and prevent bed bugs:

• Wash all bedding, curtains, fabrics and clothing from the affected areas in at least a 60 degree celsius wash
• Vaccum your mattress, carpet, curtains and upholstered furniture frequently
• Remove clutter from your home or businesses to reduce the hiding places for bed bugs
• Use a mattress protector
